Farewell to pilot Rob

Rob has spent two spells with the Charity, originally joining in 2012 for a couple of years before pursuing a role in Search and Rescue around the UK.

He returned to the Charity in 2018, ahead of the move into our purpose-built airbase in Semington.

“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time working for the Charity,” says Rob, who is due to join Starspeed shortly.

“It has been a real privilege to work alongside many talented clinicians in our efforts to save lives and play a small part in trying to expedite their safe delivery to our patients."

“I have always enjoyed helping the Charity team in our fundraising efforts through attending talks with them, facing my local Women’s Institute or running and cycling in organised events with sponsorship.

“I am very proud to have personally raised around £3,400 through my Just Giving pages and look forward to joining the team in future cycling events if I can.

“With G-WLTS back from the unprecedented extended period of maintenance, smartly painted up in her new livery, and the days getting longer – I wish everyone at the Charity all the very best in their ongoing efforts in working as one team from one base for patients, friends and families.”

Chief pilot Matt Wilcock commented: “Rob has served Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance Charity with total professionalism and passion in its various guises for over 13 years. He will be missed and we wish him every fortune in his future endevours.”

Prior to joining Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance Charity, Rob spent many years flying the EH101 Merlin around the world for the Royal Navy, as well as undertaking Police and Trinity lighthouse missions.

Everyone associated with the Charity wishes Rob all the very best in his next endeavours.
