Double Your Impact in December with Our Big Give Christmas Challenge

For one week only, donations to Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance Charity will be doubled to fund new, properly fitted uniforms for pilots, doctors and paramedics.

We are asking local people to back our Big Give Christmas Challenge campaign, running from 2 to 9 December 2025, which will double donations at no extra cost to supporters.

This means that a £50 donation becomes £100 thanks to generous match funding, making vital support go twice as far this festive season.

The funds will replace worn uniforms and deliver gender-appropriate kit so that our crew can work safely and comfortably when responding to lifesaving emergencies across Wiltshire, Bath and surrounding areas.

Our uniform campaign has a target of £37,300, consisting of £18,650 in donations from the public, which will then be doubled by a Big Give funding champion. There are further pledges from the Andrew Smiley Trust, Westek Technology, Coombe Castle International, Dickinson Trust Limited, Red Squirrel Plumbing, MEA Construction Constulants and Kingstons Estate Agents.

How does the Big Give work?

1. We secure match funding

We ask funders (philanthropists, foundations or corporates)to provide £18,650 of match funds.

2. You make your donation

You can make your donation between 2 and 9 December (midday). Keep an eye on our social media for regular updates and to be alerted when we hit our target.

3. Your donation will be doubled

The donation you have made will be automatically doubled. This means you can make twice the impact on our lifesaving service, with no extra cost to you.

The money will be used to purchase specialist items such as Nomex tops and flight trousers for clinical staff, flight suit smocks, aviation polo shirts and waterproof jackets.

If the target is met, every piece of kit will be replaced. If donations exceed the target, surplus funds will support our Charity’s lifesaving work, which costs over £5million a year.

As a registered charity, we don't receive government funding, instead relying on voluntary donations and support from local Wiltshire and Bath communities.

Dr Maria Smith, medical director at the Charity, said: "Our crew work tirelessly in challenging and unpredictable environments to save lives. Providing them with high-quality, functional uniforms isn't just about appearance, it's about safety, comfort, and performance.

“By supporting this campaign, you're directly helping our team stay equipped and ready to respond at a moment’s notice. Every donation makes a real difference - thank you."

Our crew responded to a record number of 1,343 emergencies last year. This demand highlights the need for rapid, specialist emergency care across Wiltshire and Bath.

To support the campaign and ensure your local air ambulance pilots, doctors and paramedics have the kit they need, please give between 2 and 9 December. You can also use our Big Give toolkit to share ready-made messaging, photos and graphics to spread the word.
